Brrrrritain in snow.

Usually the UK is pretty much wet and damp but not chilly and snowy, but this year they are getting snowed under. They are expecting another 20 cm (8 inches) of snow and high winds on Monday. Not being used to the rugged conditions of our Canuck winters they were pretty much paralysed last week and they are getting hit again.
Since there is a global recession and our Canadian economy is starting to suffer maybe we should export our expertise in road salt, winter tires, slush, how to dress for the snow, snowman and snow fort building, snowball fighting and general winter knowhow. Here is what it looked like in the UK.

It has certainly been an interesting week. And now, they are telling us that we are to have a month's worth of rain in 35 hours (although they seem to having snow a bit further North).

Wow... having spent Saturday on the cottage roof shoveling snow, I'm happy to know we're not alone with the white stuff. I'm nice that way. I like to spread the wealth.

When I lived in Britain for a year we only got one tiny skiff of snow. People said that was normal on the East Anglian coast where I was. This inundation must have come as a shock to them.

BB, perhaps you could recommend that snow experts from la belle province be sent here to Vancouver first. We are paralyzed by a centimeter or two of snow.

Hehehe... A couple of weeks ago, My Canadian friend in London's facebook thing said work was cancelled because of 4 cm of snow... I laughed (from under a pile of 4 feet of Montreal white stuff)...

geewits: well I don't think they expected it either.
citizen: Yes if only it had the effect of taking away our snow, mind you it is now raining and we are to get 20-30 mm (3/4 to 1.25 inches) of rain tonight and tomorrow.
Pierre: Yep we're getting rain here also except for us it is rather unusual in February
lil Sister: I can just see you up on a roof shoveling, with he rain it might have collapsed.
Deb: Not for us but it must have been rather a surprise
Ian: Yes, we were always told that snow was a very rare occurrence but it seems that they are in for it this time.
Voyager: we don't have the wet weather you do but we are used to snow... a few centimeters is nothing. I've seen storms where we had to use a stick to find the car.
noha: yes we've been lucky this year, there's half a meter less than last year. ;o)
